Familiar Shapes - Fall Winter 2026/27
There are seasons that invite us to slow down. The light becomes softer, landscapes fade into muted tones, and what we look for in clothing changes: tactile surfaces, familiar colours, shapes that make us feel at ease.
This is where Familiar Shapes, the Cains Moore FW 2026/27 collection, begins.
Its starting point is the British world of the 1970s: the brand’s archives, the English countryside, folk culture, warm interiors and an idea of elegance far removed from passing trends. An imagery that is not simply revisited, but seen through a contemporary sensibility.
Knitwear becomes an exploration of material. Wool, Shetland, alpaca and merino come together in cables, three-dimensional jacquards, mouliné yarns and two-tone ribbed constructions. Surfaces are irregular, soft and deep. Faded stripes recall winter skies and old photographs, while the palette moves through moss greens, cream, burgundy, burnt brown and dusty blues.
Everything feels like it belongs to a memory, yet nothing is truly nostalgic.
Perhaps this is the meaning of Familiar Shapes: taking something we already know — a shape, a colour, a texture — and looking at it again. With different eyes.
